May Day-Labor Day

When May 1st,  "May Day" Labor Day, and some says: International Workers' Day, Labour Day or May Day.

Do you know which one is most suitable? Let's take a look at the origin of this festival:

On May 1, 1886, about 350,000 people in Chicago, USA participated in a large-scale strike and demonstration, 

demanding improved labor conditions and the implementation of an eight-hour workday. 

Later, to commemorate this great labor movement, many workers' protests were held around the world. 

These events became the precursors to "International Labour Day".

After a hard and bloody struggle, the workers finally won. To commemorate this labor movement, on July 14, 1889, 

the Socialist Congress convened by Marxists from various countries was grandly opened in Paris, France. 

At the conference, the delegates unanimously agreed that May 1 should be designated as a common holiday for the international proletariat. 

This decision received an immediate and positive response from workers all over the world. 

Since then, on this day, working people from all over the world will gather and march to celebrate, and public holidays will be held.

However, it must be noted that not all countries celebrate Labor Day, so international worker's day is actually not appropriate.

Moreover, not all countries set May 1 as Labor Day. For example, in the United States, labor day is the first Monday in September. 

If you say labor day to Americans, you will be misunderstood.

Therefore, during the May Day in our country, it is best to use May Day when talking about this festival with foreigners. Did you get it?
