Rain Water

雨水是二十四节气中的第2个节气。雨水节气一般在公历每年二月十八日前后，太阳到达黄经330度时。

Rain water, the second solar term among the 24 solar terms, usually falls around the 18th day of February in the Gregorian calendar, when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 330 degrees.

雨水小知识

雨水和谷雨、小满、小雪、大雪一样，都是反映降水现象的节气。

Rain Water, like Grain Rain, Small Man, Small Snow and Heavy Snow ,is a solar term reflecting the phenomenon of precipitation.

“雨水”标志着降雨量的增多和气温的回升。雨水节气来临之际，盛春之景开始勃发：河水解冻，大雁北归，草木转绿。

Rain Water signals the increase in rainfall and rise in temperature. With its arrival, lively spring-like scenery starts blossoming: the river thaws, wild geese return north, and trees and grass turn green again.

春雨贵如油 

春雨对农作物的生长极为重要，中国古代谚语中也有“春雨贵如油”的说法。

Spring rain is very important to the growth of crops and an ancient Chinese proverb also says "spring rain is as evaluable as oil". 

在北方地区，“春旱”是常见的。春季的降水量只占年平均降水量的10%-15%。因此，随着天气转暖，降雨增多，雨水节气就被视为灌溉农田的关键时期。

Drought in spring is common in northern China and precipitation in spring only accounts for 10 to 15 percent of the average annual precipitation. Therefore, as the weather gets warmer and rainfall increases, the rainwater solar term is considered a key period for irrigating farmland. 

倒春寒return of cold spell

晚春时期常出现“倒春寒”现象，在此阶段要格外注意保暖。

paid to keeping warm 

降雨带来的空气湿度骤增会导致温度降低，天气潮湿。在此期间，强烈建议不要太早脱掉厚外套，注意保暖，尤其是老人和小孩。The fast increase in air humidity due to rainfall can result in lower temperature and wet weather. It is strongly advised not to take off the thick coats too early and to keep warm, especially elderly and children.
